Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How can i tell if my order has gone through?
Answer: You will have received a confirmation email if your order was succesful.
Therefore, no email = no order!

Q: Will you notify me when my order is on it's way?
Answer: Yes, we send an 'order shipped' email when your food leaves us.

Q: When will my order arrive?
Answer: Order Monday and you will receive your order Thursday.
Order Tuesday and you will receive your order Friday.
If you place your order on Wednesday,Thursday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday your order will be delivered on the following Wednesday. (unless there is a Bank Holiday or adverse weather conditions)

Delivery can be up to 24 hours after your due day.

The deadline for delivery in the same week is Midnight Tuesday.

Q: What happens if my order doesn't arrive on the designated day?
Answer: Our couriers can deliver up to 5.30pm. If your order hasn't arrived by 6 pm, please email us and we will look into this and advise you accordingly at our earliest opportunity. In the unlikely event that your order doesn't arrive on the due day, then it will be delivered the next day.

Q: I have been advised my order will be arriving a day late, will the food still be ok?
Answer: Yes, we carry out extensive tests to ensure our food is safe in the event of a 24hr delay. If you are at all unsure, please contact us for advise.

Q: Can I cancel my order?
Answer: You can cancel your order up to 72hrs before your due delivery day, after this it will be too late.

Q: What happens if I am not there when the courier tries to deliver?
Answer: The courier will leave your order with a neighbour or leave it in a safe place. If there is nowhere safe to leave it he will return it to the depot and you will need to make collection.

Q: I have a friend who would like to place an order but doesn't have internet access, what can they do?
Answer: They can send a cheque with their order to M.Manze 105 High Street Peckham, London SE15 5RS. Tell them to include their phone number and we will call them to advise when their order will be arriving.

Q: What is the necessary 'cool chain'?
Answer: It is a term applied to keeping food at or below the danger zone of 5C at all times through processing and delivery.

Q: Can I freeze my order?
Answer: Yes, with the exception of jellied eels. Your food is freshly prepared enabling you to freeze part or all of it. You should freeze your food as soon as it is delivered if you do not intend to consume it within 24 hours.

Q: Do I need to defrost the food before heating?
Answer: Yes. Defrost overnight in the fridge before heating.

Q: Are your vegetarian pies, mash & liquor suitable for Vegans?
Answer: Yes. We do not use any dairy products and only use soya mince in the vegetarian pie filling.

Q: Are your pies suitable for gluten free diets?
Answer: No, sorry.
